OTR - Round 2 by zapatones OTR - Round 2 by zapatones
I could use some opinions for this round.

My two possible outfits for the second round of OTR [link] I still haven't submitted my entry yet, because I can't seem to pick one. My biggest fear being not knowing if the outfit actually matches the event: an industry party. I ran some searches but all I came up with was clubbing parties so hence the design for room 2, room 1's is... I don't even know what that is. Probably a mixture of despair and anxiety

The left doll is based on this room: [link] and the one on the right is based on this one: [link]

I had several designs thought out for this round since I considered entering OTR for the first time, but inspiration sort of faded away when I got to sketch them. I still have some rough versions of them but they were too tacky for my taste and I wouldn't feel comfortable entering them.

Seeing as only two entries have been sent in, I sort of hoped for an extension, but the longer this gets the worse my indecision will become. I just want this round to end, yet I sort of expect some last minute miracle to happen.

That's a tough choice, man. I hear industry, I think of the girl on our right, honestly but the dress is a knock out. The one on the right screams "look at me". I love the action in the girl on our right's hair. God, and the shirt underneath the over shirt!

hmm...I feel like there's too much black in pic no. 2, and not enough white/pale gray. in the other one, barely any green.

My reasoning: Each room has a main colour. If each contestant had a room to herself then everything's fine. Each dress will be different. But we have to share the designs, so that means that going too literal with the colours will make all entries look the same.

I know what you mean, and you're right. But I just felt like explaining why the colour schemes are that way. I did alter some things in the final doll before sending it, and I did consider your CC. Thank you so much for taking your time to give it to me ;)

I like the second outfit better
I think it would be more "industry party" than the first outfit
And I love the attitude in the second one too :D

When I couldn't come up with a design I decided I had to make the rest of the elements stand out. Hence the attitude and the wind blown hair.

The one on the right I think fits the best. And my choice has nothing to do with the fact that I am doing the same room as the one on the left. XD

at an industry party you are dressing to get noticed the the style that you prefer most or feel that you model the best. it is where you get to chat up all sorts of designers photographers and modeling agents to hopefully increase your portfolio and get lots of jobs. I would say the purple one best fits this description but I would say that it is rather dark compared to the room. While the white doll I think would be best to save for an avante garde or other dress inspired challenge.

Thanks for the information. I had a vague idea of what these parties would be like, but I just wasn't sure. Thank you so much for your help :D

They both look great.
I do prefer the right one. She's got attitude and the outfit pops out more. Plus I think the face more closely matches your round 1 entry.
But I don't know about industry parties either so no idea if it's suitable. I agree with phoenix, the left one does match the room better.

Maybe have a go editing the right one? White is a strong feature in the room so it wouldn't hurt to play around and see if you add some more white without ruining the doll.

You see, I already saw the other entry for this room and white was the predominant colour. I wanted to make my entry stand out from the rest and so, I took advantage of the grey shadows on the wall. However, I realise that this is something no one else has noticed, so it may be a bad idea. I've toned down the grey and added white to her complements before sending it in but I can't promise it's going to meet the judges' expectations.

Even if it doesn't, it's still a great doll :)

i prefer the right one. her outfit is more interesting to me and also i like her face better. Though I think the left one more accurately represents the room.
